After a tough evaluation process, 26-year-old fashion student Mariam Mohamed was selected from among numerous contestants to represent the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Miss Universe pageant.
When Miss Universe is held in Thailand next month, she will be the first Emirati woman to represent the United Arab Emirates on the international stage.
“The UAE has given me the confidence to dream big,” she stated. “I want to speak up for ambitious, inquisitive, and motivated women. Impact is more important to Miss Universe UAE than appearance.
