Ali Amin Gandapur has been replaced as the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) by provincial minister Sohail Afridi, who was nominated by Imran Khan, the former prime minister and founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Born in Khyber district’s Bara tehsil, Afridi is a youthful PTI leader who is now the provincial minister of higher education. Having been with PTI since his school days, he is considered one of the party’s most ideological and grassroots workers.
Background education
Muslim Public School in Saddar Peshawar was where Afridi finished his early schooling and received his matriculation. After attending FC Government High School in Peshawar, he graduated from the University of Peshawar with a bachelor’s degree in economics.
