Kieran Culkin, the star of Succession, appears to be a proud mama’s boy who doesn’t give credit to his estranged father for anything.
The 41-year-old actor thanked his mother Patricia Brentrup from the bottom of his heart after winning the best actor award for his portrayal of Roman Roy in the HBO series.
“I am grateful that you granted me life and a wonderful childhood. So thank you for that,” Keiran said, his eyes welling up with tears.
“She’s just an absolutely wonderful woman who took on raising seven kids in a studio apartment, by herself,” he praised Patricia once more, this time backstage.
“That guy there didn’t do anything,” Keiran went on, mentioning his father Kit Culkin, who is no longer with him.
The 69-year-old mother has been going through a “hard time with her health,” according to his stepfather, who spoke with Page Six during the Emmys. Kieran has been supporting her by helping with doctor appointments.
During his acceptance speech, Keiran, who is also Macaulay Culkin’s brother, dedicated his Golden Globe to Patricia exclusively, saying, “Mom, thank you so much for doing everything for us.” You are a remarkable woman.
