The lyrics, the mesmerizing electro beat, and maybe the gymnastics-inspired video that typified the chart-friendly club hits of the time (because if it didn’t seem like a hot work-out, were you even making dance music?) will be familiar to anyone who set foot on a dance floor in the mid-noughties.
Twenty years later, the same thing is taking place. Thanks to its role in the viral movie Saltburn, Princess Superstar’s Perfect made a comeback to the UK charts earlier this year and made its first-ever entry into the US Billboard chart.
“I was like, oh sh*t, that’s my song,” Princess Superstar, Concetta Kirschner, says while speaking with News on Zoom.
