Ten persons were detained by police on Sunday during a pro-Palestine demonstration in Islamabad, including former Jamaat-e-Islami senator Mushtaq Ahmed and his spouse.
“We simply came out against Israel and in support of Hassan Nasrallah, Palestine, and Lebanon. In a video message, Ahmed stated, “This government cannot tolerate anti-Israel slogans.”
In the social media video, he was seen with arrested demonstrators in a police van.
After confirming on Saturday that its leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah had perished in an Israeli attack in Beirut, Hezbollah in Lebanon promised to carry on the fight against Israel.
The passing of Nasrallah is a serious blow to Hezbollah as well as to its purported Iranian supporters.
