ISLAMABAD: Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail of the Supreme Court stated Thursday that the justices of the highest court have accepted the 26th Constitutional Amendment, whether voluntarily or not.
During the hearing of several pleas against the contentious constitutional amendments that parliament passed last October, Justice Mandokhail made these statements.
An eight-member constitutional bench led by Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan heard the case, which was live-streamed on the SC YouTube channel. The judges on the bench were Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Ayesha A Malik, Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Musarrat Hilali, Justice Naeem Akhter Afghan, and Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan.
After nine months, the bench has finally started hearing the case.
