Strictly Come Dancing has been selected the winner of one of the top honors at the National Television Awards.
At the ceremony on Wednesday, where viewers select the winners, the dancing competition won best talent show.
Co-host Claudia Winkleman had two reasons to celebrate: her other program, The Traitors, won best reality competition.
The TV drama Mr. Bates vs. the Post Office, which took home three awards, and Ant and Dec, who extended their 23-year NTA winning streak in the best presenter category, were among the night’s other significant winners.
But only a few days before its new series premieres, viewers of Strictly proved it still has its sparkle, choosing it as the top talent show above rivals like Britain’s Got Talent and The Great British Bake Off.
The recent controversy was not brought up on stage, but it was obvious that its hosts were ecstatic to have won.
