After raising the basic power cost by Rs5.72, the Power Division dropped a new electricity bomb and revealed updated electricity tariff slabs. In anticipation of a public hearing set for July 8 at 2:00 p.m., the federal government has submitted the tariff adjustment request to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra).

The federal government’s request to raise the price of energy by Rs5.72 has been received by Nepra.

Regardless of when Nepra releases the formal announcement, the updated tariffs are effective as of July 1, 2024, according to the new tariff structure made public by the Power Division. Most people’s monthly bills will be slightly impacted by the new electricity tariff. It further stated that all electrical units will be subject to the new rate.
