India won the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium on Sunday by 88 runs, a victory that Pakistan suffered greatly due to a poor batting performance.
Pakistan, chasing 248 runs, got off to an odd start when Deepti Sharma dismissed opener Muneeba Ali in the fourth over for just two off 12 balls.
A direct throw from the field hit the stumps on the last ball. Although Muneeba’s bat seemed to have grounded, it lifted slightly at impact, and the on-field decision—which was verified on the big screen—read “OUT.”
Muneeba left in frustration as India rejoiced over the discovery.
