On Wednesday, world leaders and environmentalists honored Jane Goodall, a well-known British chimpanzee expert who passed away at the age of 91.

“Jane Goodall’s legacy will be forever celebrated,” Tierra Curry, who codirects the endangered species program at the Centre for Biological Diversity, told AFP.
“She overcame obstacles, broke gender barriers, and made a career in conservation seem within reach for women and girls around the world,” Curry said.
