During the last year and a half, Wyndham Clark has seen tremendous success, but he has also been at the center of a few cheating scandals.
Fans of Clark from last year’s U.S. Open success felt he should have been given a penalty in the last round after shaky video appeared to show him planting a club greenside that might or might not have caused the ball to move.
Clark demonstrated the ball movement at the Arnold Palmer Invitational by doing the same and grounding his club in the rough. Nevertheless, he did not receive a penalty and came in second at the end of the competition.
It should be mentioned that although a ball is permitted to “move,” no penalty will be given if it returns to its starting position—or, to use more fancy language, oscillates.
Clark said that the live footage of the Arnold Palmer Invitational event didn’t “look great.”
