Maryam Nawaz, the chief minister of Punjab, has unveiled a number of ground-breaking programs meant to improve the province’s educational system. The ‘Ho-Nihar’ merit scholarship program was approved by her, significantly increasing the number of scholarships given to deserving pupils.
The chief minister directed that the number of scholarships be expanded from 4,000 to 25,000 under the new program. This program will increase access to higher education for eligible students by paying 100% of the costs for Bachelor of Science (BS) students at government universities and eight chosen private universities.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also gave her approval for the new universities to be opened right away in Jhelum, Vehari, and Bahawalnagar.
In order to guarantee that graduates are adequately equipped for work, Maryam Nawaz also underlined the significance of adding new fields to universities with lower student enrollment and matching course requirements with industry demands.
An online portal system will be implemented for the appointment of divisional directors and principals in order to expedite administrative procedures. In order to improve student mobility options, the government also intends to supply government colleges with new buses.
A special meeting was presided over by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who also authorized the Punjab “Ho-Nihar” merit scholarship program.
