Despite party directives, at least 25 members of the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have not yet resigned from their positions on the National Assembly standing committees.
Five more resignations were been submitted, bringing the total number of PTI/SIC MPs who have resigned from their committee positions to 52.
Sohail Sultan, Muhammad Nawaz Khan, Muhammad Atif, Sher Ali Arbab, Osama Ahmed Mela, Ghulam Muhammad, Muhammad Saadullah, Umar Farooq, Muhammad Mehboob Sultan, Khawaja Sheeraz, Ayesha Nazir, Mian Ghaus Muhammad, and Fayyaz Hussain are among the MNAs who still serve on various committees, according to parliamentary sources.
All members of the PTI National Assembly were explicitly instructed by the party’s founding chairman, Imran Khan, to step down from their positions on parliamentary committees.
