KARACHI: As it gets ready to resume flights to Europe after a ban is lifted, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) appointed one of its senior executives as interim CEO on Thursday.
Following the European Union Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) lifting of its suspension, PIA’s spokeswoman stated on Sunday that the airline anticipates resuming flights to Europe, beginning with Paris, in the next three to four weeks.
A permanent CEO must be appointed by the airline. It said in a statement on Thursday that Khurram Mushtaq, who was previously in charge of PIA’s Commercial, Airport Services, Flight Services, Security, and Vigilance divisions, would “take charge of the office after the tenure of Air Vice Marshal Amir Hayat comes to an end” in between.
