With the general elections on February 8 drawing near, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has been making more and more vehement speeches in which he lavishly targets political adversaries from all parties, particularly the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Uzma Bukhari and Marriyum Aurangzeb, the party’s leaders, responded to the PPP scion’s critical comments by comparing the 35-year-old to Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

As part of the party’s election campaign, Bilawal has been criticizing the PML-N leadership, especially leader Nawaz Sharif, in his remarks to PPP supporters during rallies.

A day earlier, Bilawal had warned that if Nawaz returned to power, his “habitual revenge politics” would damage the nation. This was during a rally in Chiniot.

“Mian sahib is prone to seeking retribution. If he were to become the country’s prime minister a fourth time, he would exact revenge that no one could imagine,” Bilawal has previously declared.

According to Bukhari, a false impression of political retaliation is being created against Nawaz.

She compared the former foreign minister’s political rally behavior to that of Imran, who is currently jailed.

Speaking on the Geo News program Geo Pakistan, the PML-N leader remarked, “Given the speed at which he is following the PTI founder, I can only pray for Bilawal.”

The politician claimed that as a matter of policy, her party had chosen not to react to Bilawal. She went on to say that the youthful PPP lawmaker believes that by using PTI lingo, he will win support. “It is a misunderstanding.”
