After several days of delays, the first truckload of food and humanitarian supplies arrived in Parachinar, in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province’s restive Kurram district, on Wednesday, according to Deputy Commissioner Ashfaq Khan.
DC Khan praised the supply convoy’s nonviolent arrival in a video statement. He urged everyone to keep the calm and act in tandem with law enforcement.
After successful negotiations with local demonstrators, 40 vans bringing relief supplies were sent out, according to KP government spokesperson Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif.
According to the spokesperson, the Grand Jirga, Kurram Peace Committee, and local peace committees were crucial to the negotiations.
