Dodgers Shut Down Braves Offense
Max Muncy’s solo drive off Raisel Iglesias in the ninth inning extended his team record and gave the slugger 19 playoff home runs with the Dodgers.
In his first start since September 24, Dodgers right-hander Tyler Glasnow gave up only one hit while walking five hitters in four and a third innings. In the fifth, left-hander Alex Vesia gave up two walks before Matt Olson grounded out to second base to finish the inning.
The Braves had 18 walks and no goals in the series as a result of the lost chance.
Dodgers Rally Past Braves, 2 to 1
Mahle, a Dodgers fan from Newport Beach, California, gave up two runs in 6 1/3 innings, one of which was earned.
Before stealing second and scoring from third on a wild ball that went off catcher Will Smith’s chest protector, Michael Harris II hit Glasnow’s opening pitch for a single.
Two mistakes by Atlanta let the Dodgers tie the score in the second. Catcher Sean Murphy’s misdirected throw into center field allowed Shohei Ohtani to go to third after walking and stealing second. Shortstop Mauricio Dubón made another mistake when he lost Muncy’s pop fly into shallow left field.
