Amidst mounting political tension and unrest throughout Sindh due to the federal government’s contentious canal development plans, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), are scheduled to meet this evening (Thursday).
Bilawal is expected to meet with the prime minister later this evening after arriving in Islamabad today, according to reports. Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, will go with him.
It is anticipated that the two PPP leaders will convey Sindh’s long-standing apprehensions about the building of six additional canals alongside the Indus River.
