In a statement issued on Saturday, JUI-F Secretary General Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri stated that JUIF president Maulana Fazlur Rehman would soon convene a meeting of the Central General Council to decide on the future action plan, The News reported.
He said that national mainstream party leaders were defeated by force, while lesser-known candidates were assisted in winning their areas. To achieve the intended result, mobile phone service was turned down on Election Day.
He questioned why Pakistan’s Election Commission was so weak, noting that the commission had established new traditions.
This, he claimed, happened in both the 2013 and 2018 general elections. He questioned why the ECP was determined to provide the country an unelected government comprised of persons who would serve as showpieces.
Meanwhile, JUI-F chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman has scheduled a meeting of the central working committee and top leaders in Islamabad for February 14.
The gathering will review the circumstances following the February 8 elections, according to a statement from the party spokesman.
He stated that the JUI-F leadership, although voicing worries about the poll findings, believed that an attempt had been made to push them to the wall.
