A remarkable Winter Sports Festival recently took place in the breathtaking natural sceneries of Ganga Choti in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, thanks to the tremendous cooperation of the Pakistan Army, Department of Tourism, Sports, and Civil Administration.

The festival, which ran from February 13 until the big closing ceremony on Monday, aimed to promote both winter sports and the region’s vast tourism potential.

Ganga Choti, situated at an elevation of 10,000 feet, provided a breathtaking setting for a lively exhibition of athleticism and cultural diversity. The event featured a wide range of activities, including skiing, ice hockey, tug-of-war, martial arts, and local sports competitions, which captivated both players and spectators with their artistry.

Among the flurry of competitions, a big ceremony gathered together government officials, representatives from the public and private sectors, and local citizens to recognize the participants’ achievements. Notably, the event received GOC Chinar Division as the distinguished chief guest, emphasizing the festival’s importance in promoting community participation and national pride.

The talent and determination of Azad Kashmir’s athletes drew worldwide praise, with onlookers expressing heartfelt admiration for their outstanding achievements. The top performers received monetary prizes and honorary shields in acknowledgment of their efforts, emphasizing the importance of developing sports greatness in the region.

The festival also reiterated a shared commitment to the growth and promotion of Azad Kashmir’s tourism industry.Participants and spectators alike delighted at the grandeur of Ganga Choti and the surrounding snow-capped mountains, reinforcing the region’s attraction as a top tourist destination.

Attendees praised the Winter Sports Festival’s organization and encouraged its continuance in the future. The festival, which combined sporting enthusiasm and cultural celebration, not only demonstrated Azad Kashmir’s athletic talent but also highlighted the region’s potential as a bustling winter tourism destination.
