On Tuesday, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) extended bail to Ali Amin Gandapur, who is set to become Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister, until March 19 in cases filed against him, urging officials not to arrest him in any ongoing investigations.
Justices Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Waqar Ahmed heard the petitions filed against Mr Gandapur.
During the proceedings, the judge directed law enforcement officials not to arrest Gandapur in connection with any of the charges.
The petitioner’s attorney expressed fears about Gandapur’s arrest as a result of his nomination as Chief Minister, specifically noting instances of Punjab police supposedly present in the region.
In response, Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim questioned the practicality of Punjab police jurisdiction in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, emphasising the necessity for clarity on such matters.
The court further mandated the government and relevant institutions to furnish responses in the next hearing while adjourning proceedings till March 19.

The court granted bail to Ali Amin Gandapur until the aforementioned date and demanded thorough data about the cases filed against him.
