Authorities in Wake County, North Carolina, have apprehended an escaped pig that rose to fame on social media.
If the pig’s owner does not come forward, the Wake County Animal Center has named him “Thanos” and plans to put him up for auction. (The Marvel Cinematic Universe films feature a supervillain by the name of Thanos.)
On February 28, Thanos was taken into custody by the Wake County Animal Center, according to their website. Right now, the pig is placed on “stray hold,” which is supposed to stay for at least three days.
Following a neighborhood escape, North Carolina police bring lost pigs and the goat home.
“The adoption procedure will be finished if the animal’s owner does not retrieve [the pig] within the stray hold period.
Pig found in a North Carolina yard is apprehended; if its owner cannot be located, it will be auctioned.
