Cindy Ngamba discusses her battle for British citizenship and her desire to compete in the Olympics in Paris.

Boxer Ngamba, who was born in Cameroon and plans to fight in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, has had challenges both personally and professionally since relocating to the UK when he was ten years old.

Ngamba has been in England for 15 years, a place she is pleased to call home, but she is still struggling for a UK citizenship and visa.

Ngamba is unable to compete for Team GB in this summer’s Olympics due to his lack of a British passport.

Nevertheless, since she was awarded a scholarship by the IOC refugee team, her desire to attend the Games remains unquenchable.

Ngamba had a tenuous right to stay in the UK prior to receiving refugee status.

Ngamba was about to be deported at the age of 20.
