To accommodate Umrah pilgrims during the holy month of Ramadan, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque set aside a number of entry and exit gates at the mosque in Makkah to greet them.
The new arrangements were designed in collaboration with government entities that work within the Grand Mosque.
The holy month of fasting is expected to attract millions of pilgrims from across the Kingdom and beyond the world.
According to the Saudi Gazette, the authorities have made the necessary plans and preparations to ensure that pilgrims and worshippers can perform their rites with ease and comfort.
Pilgrims can access the mosque through King Abdulaziz Gate, King Fahd Gate, Umrah Gate, and Al-Salam Gate, as well as 85-93 ground-floor doors (excluding door 88), Ajyad Staircase, Ajyad Bridge, Shubaika Stairways 65-66, King Fahd Stairways 91-92, and Stairway 84.
The designated exits are side crossings 78-80, stairs 74, ordinary stairways 71-73-85-88, King Fahd staircase, doors 75-77 and 81-83, and the Al-Shubika staircase, which is reserved for emergency situations.
