Asif Ali Zardari, the president, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the Sikh community on Baisakhi, an ancient harvest festival that is significant to Sikhism and ushers in a new year.
In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Shehbaz remarked, “I extend my heartiest greetings to the Sikh community all over the world and in Pakistan on the occasion of the colourful festival of Baisakhi.”
The prime minister emphasized the significance of Baisakhi as a springtime emblem that represents love, affection, and happiness and noted that the celebration contributes to Pakistan’s religious diversity, which is a “beautiful blend of different faiths and cultures”.
“I want to convey love, peace, and love to each and every one of you. Together, let’s do our share to build a world free of conflict,” the prime minister declared.
The Prime Minister also gave the Sikh pilgrims who traveled from all over the world peace of mind by assuring them that all pertinent and essential amenities are being provided by both the federal and provincial governments in Pakistan.
