Awais Ahmad Leghari, the minister of energy, reaffirmed the federal government’s pledge to finance Balochistani agricultural tube well solarization on Friday.
In response to a notice of concern regarding the Quetta Electric Supply Company’s (QESCO) three-hour daily electricity supply to agricultural tube wells, he stated that the federal government would be putting the solarization initiative into action as soon as the Balochistani government developed a system for paying consumers.
He emphasized that 404 feeders in Balochistan had almost 12,000 illicit transformers running on them, with 96% of these feeders operating at a loss.
Agricultural tube wells were among the many enterprises that owed an outstanding amount of about Rs 640 billion.
The center will solarize the tube wells in Balochistan, says the minister.
