According to reports, Prince Andrew is refusing to give up his opulent Royal Lodge residence, which is allegedly “crumbling” due to his inability to pay for its expensive maintenance.
There have been reports of cracks in the brickwork, dirt streaks straining the facade, and white paint flaking away from the walls of Royal Lodge. The British monarch, who has been in the estate for twenty years, is reportedly unable to pay the £400,000 ($511,472) annual maintenance charges, according to the DailyMail in the United Kingdom.
When News asked for comment, a Buckingham Palace spokesman did not reply.
The 64-year-old declared in 2019 that he was leaving his royal responsibilities because the issue surrounding the late, convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was causing a “major disruption” to the family.
The author of “The King,” Christopher Andersen, told News that the father of two will probably ask his closest friends and family for any support they can provide him when things are hard.
Andersen stated, “Andrew is currently clinging on anything by his fingertips, possibly in the hopes that one of his affluent pals will provide some cash. That is unlikely to succeed, though. King Charles III is growing irritated and wants to show everyone who is in charge, punish his brother, and bring Royal Lodge back to its former splendor all at once.”
