After a downturn last year, the housing market seems to be recovering, and several lenders have started lowering their mortgage rates. Experts assert that the long-term outlook is unclear. According to the bank, a UK home’s average price in December was £287,105. The amount is at its highest point since March 2023 and is up 1.1% from the previous month. According to Kim Kinnaird, director of mortgages at Halifax, the market exceeded forecasts in 2023, expanding by 1.7% annually. This analysis, however, is not the same as that of other lenders. According to a comparable nationwide analysis released last week, average prices decreased 1.8% annually but were unchanged month over month.Halifax’s numbers, according to Ms. Kinnaird, are based on Lloyds Banking Group.
