You could easily mistake this for nothing more than candy on stilts. Concrete is replaced with candy canes. No bricks, just chocolate buttons instead. Nonetheless, since flooding compels architects to modify building plans, there is significant scientific significance behind it. At the center of the show in London’s Westfield are over eighty different model buildings, all constructed out of gingerbread, icing, and candies. Visitors will be able to vote on the most inventive and resilient buildings to the effects of climate change. After a year of widespread floods in the UK, the London Museum of Architecture has been hosting the exhibition since 2016. This year, the theme of “water in cities” was especially prominent.
