On Wednesday, the 41-year-old, whose full name is William Michael Phillips, received a 25-month ban.
Between 2003 and 2015, the former scrum-half appeared 94 times for Wales, as well as on the British and Irish Lions tours in 2009 and 2013.
Phillips formerly played for the Scarlets, Cardiff Blues, and Ospreys before moving on to Bayonne and Racing 92 in France.
He retired from rugby with the Sale Sharks in 2017, but returned later that year to play for the Scarlets to cover an injury.
Phillips has been a regular rugby pundit since retirement, including World Cup coverage on ITV and S4C last year.
He pled guilty to driving an Audi A4 on the road with 108 micrograms of alcohol per 100 milliliter of breath.
The legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millimetres of breath.
The incident occurred on July 7, 2024, on the A483 near Llanwrtyd Wells in Powys.
