Shakeel Ahmad Khan, the Minister for Works and Communication in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resigned from his position while accusing the province government, which is supported by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), of corruption and poor leadership.
According to Shakeel, he submitted his resignation letter to Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of KP.
This happened a few days after PTI founder Iman Khan, who is currently incarcerated, sent a strong message to the KP administration from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, warning that party members will face consequences for corruption and poor governance in their respective ministries.
Following Khan’s instructions, the PTI established a three-person committee to keep an eye on corruption and administration in KP, the province in which the party won the right to form government in February 2024.
