NASA claims that strange noises originating from malfunctioning Boeing spacecraft are not significant.

The Boeing Starliner, which is presently docked to the International Space Station (ISS), is making strange noises, but NASA maintains they are not significant.

Due to Starliner’s issues, astronaut Butch Wilmore and his colleague Suni have been stranded on the ISS since early July. Over the weekend, Wilmore reported to mission control that he heard “strange” sounds emanating from the spacecraft.
“I’m not sure what’s causing it,” he declared to his Earthly colleagues.

He urged them to “call us if you figure it out” and to “scratch your heads and see if you can figure out what’s going on”.

It was described as a “pulsing noise, almost like a sonar ping” by mission control.

NASA has now verified that the noise has stopped and is not a cause for concern.

NASA announced in a statement that the pulsing sound coming from a speaker on Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft, which astronaut Butch Wilmore noticed while on board the International Space Station, had ceased.

The audio setup between Starliner and the space station produced the speaker’s feedback.
