Early on July 20, Baker was pulled over for driving while intoxicated on a route close to his Byron Bay home.
The 55-year-old was excused from Mullumbimby Court House on Wednesday, but according to court records, he admitted to one charge of driving while intoxicated, which was his first offense of that kind.
In addition to starring in Home and Away and The Devil Wears Prada, Baker is nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his leading performance in the American criminal thriller series The Mentalist.
Hailing from northern New South Wales, he gained his early exposure to beloved Australian series such as A Country Practice and Heartbreak High.
After winning Best New Talent at Australia’s premier television awards, the Logies, in 1993, he moved to the US and soon after got a part in the Academy Award-winning movie L.A. Confidential.
Following twenty years in Hollywood, where he was honored with a star on the Walk of Fame, Baker made a comeback to Australian cinema and television, pursuing directing in addition to acting.
His performance in the popular Netflix series Boy Swallows Universe earned him a nomination for Best Lead Actor at the 2018 Logies.
On September 11, he is scheduled to make another appearance in Mullumbimby Court House.
