On Sunday at around 1.17 a.m., police were called to the Tower Hamlets neighborhood of the city.
Reports were made to the Metropolitan Police of a woman who had been stabbed in the lobby of a complex of apartments on Duckett Street.
The woman was declared dead at the spot, despite the presence of London Ambulance Service.
Hope Rowe, 32, is scheduled to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning after being charged with murder.
She is also accused of having a bladed object in her possession.
Although the dead has not yet been formally identified, authorities think that she is 31-year-old Charlotte Lawler.
Her next of kin have been notified and are getting assistance from officers with training.
A 37-year-old man was freed on bond after being detained earlier on charges of aiding an offender.
According to police, at this point in their investigation, they are not searching for anyone else.
Prior to now, Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney expressed his condolences to the victim’s family “during this extremely trying time.”
Police have encouraged anyone with knowledge to contact them since the investigation into the tragedy is still ongoing.
