The Tampa Bay Bucs, who defeated the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night, will travel north on Sunday to take on the Detroit Lions in the NFC Divisional Round.
When asked how the weather would affect the game, Bucs head coach Todd Bowles looked confused during a Tuesday press conference. The forecast for Detroit is 23 degrees and winds of 10 mph. The reporter did not seem to be aware that the game would be played in a dome, though.
“Coach, with eyes toward Detroit.” Even the best-prepared teams have experienced weather-related delays in some of their playoff games, according to the reporter. “Today’s temperature in Detroit is 13 degrees, not nearly as hot as some of the others. Should you play them in Detroit, are there any extra preparations being made to get the team used to playing in such bitter cold?”
After pausing for a moment, Bowles informed the reporter that the team will be playing indoors.
He said, “They got a dome,” then winced. “No, there are no plans. We’re indoors, and we only have to be outside for the 20 seconds getting off the bus. We’ll be alright.

The Lions played in the Pontiac Silverdome from 1975 to 2001 before moving to Ford Field in 2002. Tiger Stadium hosted Detroit’s final outdoor home games from 1941 until 1974.
Jared Goff, the quarterback for Detroit, is 23-19 with 10,741 passing yards and 75 touchdown passes in his career. He has participated in 42 games in domes.
