Despite positive economic statistics in many industries, records continued to fall at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX). On Friday, the benchmark KSE-100 Index gained more than 1,600 points and settled above the 154,000 mark for the first time ever.
Throughout the trading session, the market remained positive and reached an intra-day high of 154,511.31.
The KSE-100 increased 1,611.47 points, or 1.06%, before closing at 154,277.19.
Strong company results and favorable macroeconomic trends were cited by analysts as the reasons for the purchasing rally.
