Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz has emphasized that there was no risk of cyclone formation in response to claims that there was a low-pressure system in the Arabian Sea that could develop into a tropical storm.
The concerned authorities were informed about the low-pressure area in the Arabian Sea by the National Disaster Management Authority’s (NDMA) Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC), which stated that it was expected to intensify into a storm and make landfall in Pakistan’s coastal regions in the upcoming weeks.
On Wednesday, however, the meteorologist stated on Geo News’ “Geo Pakistan” show that “there is no formation of low pressure right now as the cyclone is formed at its fifth stage.”
