Relentless monsoon rain caused floods throughout Karachi, burying homes and highways and immobilizing city life. At least three persons were killed and dozens more were reported missing.
The monsoon system is still centered as a depression roughly 60 kilometers west of Karachi, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). As it moves toward the coast of Balochistan, it is predicted to diminish into a low-pressure region.
Prior to this, the department had issued a warning that rain will persist throughout Wednesday’s day and night, with brief, intense downpours in the southern and western regions of the city. Wednesday’s temperatures ranged from 27°C to 29°C, with a 92% humidity level.
