In all, 497 terrorist incidents occurred in 27 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the course of the previous nine months, according to CTD statistics. Of those, 1,154 terrorists affiliated with banned organizations were named in First Information Reports (FIRs), and 16 of those accused have been sentenced by the relevant courts thus far.
Giving specifics, the CTD study revealed that district Dera Ismail Khan, the home of the provincial chief minister and governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, had 52 terrorist events that resulted in the deaths of 39 terrorists. Four terrorists were detained by the police.
Similarly, it added that in 55 instances in the Khyber district, 22 criminals were slain and 25 detained, and that 54 terrorist occurrences were recorded from North Waziristan where the CTD was present.
