A manhunt for a lone sniper who the governor claimed had committed a political assassination was launched after US conservative activist Charlie Kirk, a significant ally of President Donald Trump, was shot dead Wednesday while speaking at a Utah university.
As of Wednesday evening, some eight hours after the lunchtime shooting at the Utah Valley University campus in Orem, Utah, which was attended by 3,000 people, authorities said that they still did not have a suspect in custody.
