NEW YORK: Zohran Mamdani, a rising Muslim politician, has received a significant boost with the endorsement of New York Governor Kathy Hochul in his bid to become mayor of New York City.
Hochul stated in a New York Times opinion post that “one of my foundational beliefs in the four years since I took office has been the importance of the office of New York governor working hand in hand with the mayor of New York City for the betterment of the 8.3 million residents we both represent.”
I have given careful consideration to the issue of who will be the future mayor, and I take it very seriously. I am supporting Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani tonight.
