The US military launched a strike on a suspected Venezuelan drug cartel ship bound for the US on Monday, according to President Donald Trump. This is the second strike against a suspected drug boat in as many weeks.
He added that the strike took place in international seas and claimed the lives of three personnel. Trump claimed the boat was transporting drugs, but he offered no proof.
“This morning, on my Orders, US Military Forces conducted a SECOND Kinetic Strike against positively identified, extraordinarily violent drug trafficking cartels and narcoterrorists in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility,” Trump said in a post to Truth Social.
“The national security of the United States is at risk from these incredibly brutal drug trafficking organizations.
