GUJRANWALA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) announced on Tuesday that a group of 22 men who were posing as members of a football team were deported from Japan after officials discovered that their documents were fraudulent.
Malik Waqas, a major suspect in the human smuggling scheme, registered a football team under the name “Golden Football Trial,” according to an FIA official.
Each person paid Rs4 million to human trafficker Waqas, who used this money to illegally move them outside.
The PIA spokeswoman claimed that Waqas had created fabricated credentials, such as phony registrations from the Pakistan Football Federation and phony documents from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and that the persons had been educated to pose as professional football players.
