DUBAI: After Indian players ignored the traditional post-match handshake, off-field drama overshadowed India’s seven-wicket victory over Pakistan in Sunday’s Asia Cup encounter at Dubai Stadium.
After hitting the winning runs, Suryakumar Yadav and teammate Shivam Dube greeted one another and went straight to the dressing room rather than greeting their opponents.
Later, head coach Mike Hesson and captain Salman Ali Agha of Pakistan went up to the Indian camp, but no players emerged.
It was “a disappointing way for the match to end,” according to Hesson.
