The FDE often announces a one-week winter hiatus during the coldest time of the year. But because this year’s usual cold weather has arrived later than usual, the vacation is expected to last from December 21 to December 29, with classes returning on December 30. The reopening date may be moved to January 1, 2025, if an extension is granted until December 31.
The FDE is anticipated to reassess the school schedule after the winter break.
