In Llucmajor, Majorca; Palma and Calvia (Magaluf); and San Antonio, Ibiza, late-night alcohol sales are strictly prohibited in an effort to reduce the number of tourists who travel to these areas intoxicated.
Additionally, party boats are not allowed to cruise within one nautical mile of any of these locations, nor are they allowed to pick up and drop off passengers there, according to the Majorca Daily Bulletin.
However, some companies have criticized the law, claiming that visitors will simply visit nearby resorts that are exempt from the regulations.
The prohibitions come after the Balearic government strengthened a statute aimed at curbing excessive alcohol consumption four years prior.
