Four migrants are said to have fled to California after being apprehended and then freed for allegedly attacking two New York City police officers close to Times Square.
Authorities think that Darwin Andres Gomez, 19, Kelvin Servita Arocha, 19, Wilson Juarez, 21, and Yorman Reveron, 24, have left town following the incident, according to the New York Post, which cited a law enforcement source.
According to the Post, police suspect that the group of four managed to board a bus headed for California on Wednesday by providing false identities to a nonprofit organization connected to a church that assists migrants in leaving the Big Apple.
A representative for the Office of Court Administration (OCA) in New York stated in a statement to Fox News Digital that they are not aware of the whereabouts of Arocha, Juarez, Reveron, or Izquiel.
The state OCA’s spokeswoman, Al Baker, stated, “The Court is not aware of the defendants’ whereabouts but they are obligated to return to Court on their scheduled dates.”
The four migrants are suspected of being involved in the attack on two NYPD policemen that was captured on camera, which happened close to the New Amsterdam theater, a well-liked tourist attraction.
The NYPD was seen in the footage asking the migrants to disperse, but as they tried to put someone in a yellow jacket down, there was a fight.
Then, as the officers struggle on the ground, one hooded suspect with a bag is seen kicking one of them twice in the head, and another suspect with a red top kicks him in the back.
