Just before jury selection began, the divisive yogi arrived at the sun-baked Santa Fe facility in a black SUV with her husband, Alec Baldwin, facing a felony manslaughter charge.
One of the couple’s seven children, a toddler, was removed from the vehicle. Before hurriedly giving the infant to a caregiver, Hilaria cuddled her in front of the cameras. Moments afterward, the baby and the caregiver left in the same SUV.
Legal experts surmised that the Baldwins hoped to make the churlish actor more relatable to the general public and possibly even prospective jurors.
It’s not really a terrific setting for a child; therefore, the child’s arrival is unique,” divorce lawyer Christopher C. Melcher told News. “And you’ve got to think, if they have care with a nanny, why bring the child other than for show?”
He claimed the Baldwins were aware that pictures of the mother and kid arriving at the courts would go viral very soon.
