Pakistan sent the third shipment of 20 tons of aid to Gaza on Monday, while Israel continued its crimes against the Palestinian people. The supplies included medical supplies, surgical equipment, dry rations, and hygiene kits.
Upon reaching Egypt’s Al Arish Airport, the shipment will be given to the Red Crescent for further distribution.
Since October 7, Israeli strikes on Gaza have resulted in nearly 22,000 Palestinian deaths and 56,697 injuries, according to a Monday report from the health ministry in Gaza. The government said that 246 Palestinians were hurt and 156 Palestinians were killed in the previous 24 hours.
An official announcement was released by acting Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, who sent off the cargo at Nur Khan Airbase, Islamabad, using a special Pakistan Air Force aircraft.
During the send-off ceremony, the interim FM described the consignment as a symbol of support for his Palestinian counterparts on the first day of the new year.
The senior Pakistani diplomat emphasized the need for a ceasefire and the unhindered supply of humanitarian aid to the people of occupied Gaza who are subject to vicious Israeli aggression, while reiterating Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people in their justifiable and heroic struggle for their right to self-determination.
At the ceremony, the Palestinian envoy thanked the Pakistani government and people for their ongoing support, highlighting in particular the noteworthy act of ringing in the New Year by expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people.
Pakistan had sent the second shipment of supplies to the besieged Palestinians in Gaza.
