Pakistan won the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy for the first time on Wednesday, defeating Japan 2-1 at the Moqi Hockey Training Base in Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia, China.
Nadeem Ahmed scored the game’s first goal in the first quarter, but Japan later tied the score in the second.
Sufyan Khan’s goal in the tenth minute of the second quarter gave Pakistan their lead again, and that was enough to win.
It should be mentioned that Pakistan drew their opening two matches.
The Green Shirts were unable to hold onto a two-goal advantage in their match against South Korea on Monday, which resulted in a 2-2 draw.In the second quarter, South Korea scored a goal to take the lead, which they maintained until the third quarter. Up until the third quarter, Pakistan’s squad was behind by one goal and had failed to score any goals.
But Hanan Shahid’s two quick goals in the fourth quarter led the Pakistani squad to an incredible comeback.
However, Korea scored a second goal to tie the score before the game could finish.
